The Haven enjoys a peaceful and secluded location with wonderful views over The Tay to the Sidlaw hills beyond. However, if you feel like the hustle and bustle of city life, Dundee is only a fifteen minute drive. Dundee's waterside has recently been developed and now boasts the iconic V&A museum (opening in the summer 2018) alongside the Discovery ship. St Andrews with its myriad attractions including world renowned golf courses and beaches is only 13 miles from The Haven. It is a beautiful town, steeped in history with Cathedral and castle ruins.
The Haven is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists. Historians will appreciate the ruins of Balmerino Abbey, a Cistercian Monastery built in 1229, right on the doorstep.
N.B. There is a small unfenced pond in the garden, therefore children must be supervised at all times.
The Haven is a traditionally built stone cottage dating back to the 1800s. It has been fully renovated and modernised to provide all the comforts of home. It retains its cottage feel and character with an open fire in the sitting room and a wood burning stove in the recently built sun room. The Haven has its own private gardens with seating areas to both front and rear of the cottage. The back garden with rockery and pond is a suntrap in the morning and then as the sun moves round to the front visitors are afforded the chance to relax on the patio and soak up the beautiful scenery and glorious sunsets that Balmerino has to offer.
